My little sweeper!

Ethan has found a new toy this week. He discovered my swiffer sweeper and carries it around the house with him all day. I even heard him crying on the stairs and went to find him and he was trying to climb up the stairs with his swiffer. He is so funny to watch as he carries the swiffer around the house and he will sweep and bang it on the floor and against mommy. Now, I just need to work with him a little more on his sweeping skills and I will have him trained!

Easter!!

My parents sent these adorable little glasses for Easter. He looked so cute with them on, but only leaves them on for a couple of seconds.

On Saturday, the base had a "Breakfast with Bunny" that we went to. This is the little picture that they took of Ethan with the bunny. Ethan was so funny, because he was just fascinated with the bunny's fur and kept trying to pull at it. The event was a lot of fun, they had a great breakfast, pictures with the bunny, face painting, coloring pictures and free bowling.

These are my two handsome boys in their Easter outfits. I bought this cute little outfit for Ethan for Easter and after we put it on, Eric saw it and decided that he would wear a matching outfit. They just looked so cute together!

Easter Egg Hunt

This past week Ethan and I have been having practice Easter egg hunts around the house in anticipation of the big event. I would scatter eggs around the house and then he would go around the house and find them and put them in his basket. He just loved finding the eggs. So, Saturday the first of our two hunts arrived. We went to an easter egg hunt sponsored on base. The navy base spread 12000 eggs in a huge field. The field was just covered with them. So, when they opened the gate, Eric took off running with Ethan to get eggs. Here are two little videos of the hunts. The first one is from Saturday and the second one is from an easter egg hunt we did with our neighbors on Sunday.

As you can see from the video, our training didn't pay off entirely. Ethan was hilarious because he would pick up an egg and there would still be several eggs around him, but he would walk 10 feet or so to another egg he saw. I have to admit, I picked up a couple of eggs for him because other kids were about to get them. We had such a fun time and Ethan just loved doing the easter egg hunts.

It is hard to tell from this picture, but that baseball field was just covered with plastic easter eggs. It was unbelievable. So, they had put out 12000 eggs and within 10 minutes the whole field was picked clean and everyone was headed home--it was unbelievable!

At the neighborhood easter egg hunt, in the middle of the hunt, Ethan noticed the neighbors had a slide and took off to play on the slide...I guess he was all egged out!

It's a girl!!!!

Well, I am a little slow in posting this, but last week I had my ultrasound. I was very excited because Eric got to come along with me. He missed Ethan's ultrasound because he was in Newport for training. So, it was so exciting to have him there and to see our new baby together for the first time. The sonographer asked us what we thought we were having. I told her I was convinced it was another boy and Eric thought it was a girl. Well, this may be the only time I admit this, but Eric was right. She said that she is 90% sure it was a girl. We are just so thrilled to be welcoming a little girl into our family and very excited to have finally broken the "Nelson curse." Here is a little picture of our new little girl--this is a profile picture. Now we are just trying to come up with a name, so far we have come up empty. It's a good thing we have a couple of months left to think about it. In the meantime, I am so excited to start shopping for little girl clothes!!

Mystic Seaport!!

Yesterday we went to Mystic Seaport with our friends the Denucci's and had SOOOOO much fun! Mystic Seaport is a little seaport village that depicts coastal life in New England in the 19th century. It has tons of museums to walk in, ships to go on, etc. It is a lot of fun and thanks to Groton Public Library, we can get passes to go for free, otherwise it costs an arm and a leg!!Anyways, there are a ton of fun things for little kids to do. The climbed in boats, we went on a whaling boat, there was a fun children's museum that we played in. Ethan steered the boat, slept in a bunk and doesn't he look adorable in his sailor hat!
Ethan loved every minute of our adventure and we had a great time!!

Utah Trip

Last week, we went out to visit Eric's family in Utah--really I think we went out just so Eric could ski. According to him, he can't go a winter without skiing!! We had a great time with Eric's family. We spent most of the week up in Midway, just outside of Park City, at Eric's great-aunt's house with all the family. Eric's whole family was there, then an aunt and uncle came up and brought both of their families and my sister Brooke came up for the weekend. We had a blast! Also, it was so nice to see Eric's brother Mike who has been on a mission for the last two years. These are just a few pictures of Ethan looking so cute! The house had this little room under the stairs for the kids and Ethan loved going in there.

Eric's brother Mike and his cousin Nate spent one evening sculpting this creation. We were all very impressed at how defined he was. Also, we are sure the neighbors loved it!

We took some family pictures the day we left Midway on a covered bridge--all I can say is that it was FREEZING!! However, the pictures turned out really good. I didn't get any of the whole family, but here are a couple of the Nelson men and then there is one of Ethan and his cousin Blake and a really cute one of Ethan.

Sunday afternoon, we headed down to Provo to help my grandma celebrate her 82nd birthday. We had a lot of fun and it was so nice to see her. The next day we headed out to Grandpa Tolman's house to introduce Ethan to him. We went out to lunch with grandpa and Aunt Leslee, both of whom Ethan absolutely loved. Ethan was especially enthralled by Grandpa's cane! We had such a great time visiting in Utah and are especially grateful to Eric's parents for the great time we had with them up in Midway! We can't wait until next time we go visit!!

Also, I am so sorry I was a bad blogger last month. I will try and be better and (Mom and Dad this is for you) give you your fix of Ethan!

Ethan Walking/Running

Eric and I have decided that Ethan's favorite thing to do is eat. This is a little video (Dad, this is for you) of Ethan running towards his aunt who has some food.
